Anyone ever worry that you'll never be able to start/finish all the projects you want to?

My WIP folder haunts me daily as I start writing yet another new thing. LOL. On the bright side. One day I'll finish at least a handful of them. XD

Does anyone know a non-laggy text editor?

I'll also throw in support for Scrivener. It's a fantastic editor for novels that keeps all of your notes. The compile function in particular is amazing, especially if you start self publishing.

Which genres do you guys filter out?

Fanfiction, but not because I dislike it. Lol. I'm here to read original fiction. Lol. If I want to read/write fanfiction, I use AO3 or occassionally I'll go back to fanfiction.net.

Rom Com Scenes & Cliches That You Actually Like

That "oh" moment where Person A does something ordinary or simple that Person B finds adorable/cute/admirable and Person B is so struck with adoration they finally realize they're in love. That one little thing that tips the scale~

Is this a good enough spin on a regression conept?

It sounds like a fun concept. A little tricky managing the POVs and who knows what, but it could work.

    Bob Ross Remixed!

Bob Ross Remixed came out 11 years ago and continues to bring great joy to me. I thought I should share it: I do not draw nearly as much as I used to. I need to believe in my inner Bob Ross and get back to it. Enjoy, fellow artists. XD

    I hate AI art but . . .

I mean. That is what I'm doing. Doesn't bring all the jobs already lost back, though.

Why are MOBA so addictive despite their hard mechanics

    It's gambling. Lol. Highly addictive.

    I hate AI art but . . .

Corporations don't care. People are already losing jobs in almost every art and writing related industry. Here's just one example: https://www.wired.com/story/ai-is-already-taking-jobs-in-the-video-game-industry/ Heck, just look at mobile game ads. Those used to be done by an artist and now...

Mastering AI-Directed Writing: The Ultimate Comprehensive Guide

Why is that the future you want though? Creating is the fun part of writing. Seeing yourself improve is fun. Brainstorming is fun. Researching is fun. Editing can be a pain, but the end result is satisfying. Why would you want a machine to do it for you? You're robbing yourself of growth, and...

Why is the DBZ formula so attractive

It's usually not just the system and the general "We have to keep raising the stakes or the story ends" dilemma. The story has to support it. Goku going Super Saiyan for the first time wasn't just impactful bc it was a power up. It was the *why he did it* that made you remember the moment. As...

How to kill off important characters en masse?

Large, chaotic events with casualties usually work. See Transformers: The Movie for an example when the series wanted to swap out the main cast. Lol.

Have you ever looked back at a chapter you wrote, look at its quality and think "what the fucking shit is this" "which abomination wrote this"

Moat of the time, no. I love looking at older writing and seeing how my writing has changed and developed in the past 20 years. There are definitely moments where I am like "well, that wasn't great" but recently I remind myself it was the best I could do at the time and move forward. :D

Does anyone know of a good research resource for fairy lore?

Project Gutenberg is always a good resource for older works: https://gutenberg.org/ebooks/search/?query=fae&submit_search=Search

what are you playing right now?

Moonstone Island has taken over all my free time. It's Stardew meets Pokémon and I'm in love.

How to handle changes of point of view?

There's no right or wrong way to do it. I see published novels with Names at the start of chapters to indicate the POV. I prefer it when the character voice is different enough that it's clear we've switched to a new character, myself. Lol.

    LitRPG system

I have a spreadsheet. I add a column with the chapter number when their stats change. Lol.

How do you structure your dialogue?

All three! Including a magical forth: No tag at all if it's clear who is speaking without it.

    Rereading > First Read ?

Stories I love enough to read twice are always more fun the second time. I know all my favorite parts are coming up again and I can appreciate set up and foreshadowing more. I'd list them, but most of them are comics or fanfics atm. Lol. My literary examples are Treasure Island and The Wizard...

Multiple stories at the same time

If you're writing for fun or as a hobby, write whatever you want. Is the serious answer. The joke answer is Run and Save yourself from drowning in hundreds of WIP stories. XD
