You want a ratio of 2:3 tall for covers. Also, the characters' outlines are hard to see because they are blended in with the background. Ideally, there should be a title as well.

The composition is fine, though the color choices make it look somewhat glaring. Considering that this is a book cover, it should be fine once you fix the background. Desaturate the blue or change it to something else.

I'd try to change that flat blue background first, then probably make the text more easily readable.

I'd recommend sticking to physical if you don't have a stylus, unless you want to master mouse drawing, which sounds terrible. If you want to pursue the digital route, however, I'd recommend getting Clip Studio Paint. It's the premier drawing software alongside Photoshop, as far as I'm aware...

I see that the environment is drawn quite decently, but the artist overdid the smoke/mist on the ground. I'd probably smooth out the strokes and lower the layer opacity for a better read of the picture.

Not the case for me. I find it straining to continuously trace the correct lines to read in a wall of text. Often, I'd be distracted for a brief moment and lose track of where I am seeing.

I don't look into the view counts, so I can't say what it is that gets a story there, but the 2000 reader mark is a hard cap. Try to observe the trending page for a week, and you'll see that none of the stories on there have over 2000 readers. Again, I'm not trying to explain the trending rules...

Been saying this like three times now, but the trending on this site is weird. Once you're on it once and you keep going, you'll continue to appear on there a lot until you get past 2000 readers, after which you'll never be in the top 9 anymore. I know the 2000 mark because I have four stories...
