    900 is too short. 2000 is basically the minimum. If you're having a mental breakdown writing 900 words, stop writing, or do it consistently enough that it's not that hard. I'm pretty average when it comes to writing speed and I can do 900 words in an hour or less.

    You have a general idea and maybe know the main plot beats and go from there. A ton of people write like this, including me. It’s probably the majority actually. And there are plenty of stories with almost no plot beyond progression and slice of life that are very popular, like Super Supportive.
