Cannot add images, emoji's, change text.

So... not sure why, but the site won't let me post pictures, emoji's, change bold/italics, ect. They all are greyed out and unclickable... I have tried restarting my device and opening/closing scribblehub.

    Was this Hitoshi Iwaaki's inspiration?

Think this was the inspiration for Migi from Parasyte? It's from a movie that came out in 1989 called 'Leviathan'. Kindof a mashup of Alien meets The Thing, meets The Abyss.

Language in Fantasy when lacking the origin behind the word.

How thoroughly do you purge your stories of words and/or concepts that wouldn't exist in either a fantasy/alt history context? Some things are fairly easy replacements, like instead of describing someone as 'christ-like', use 'godlike' or 'messiah' and it becomes less tied to a specific...

    'Save the Cat' plotting

Is anyone here familiar with this outlining method? I hadn't heard of it until I saw it referenced in a reddit post yesterday. It breaks down the story outline into fifteen 'beats' that span the three acts. Each 'beat' is a plot point meant to address/accomplish a certain thing in the story. It...

    World Builders- Creation Myths?

For those of you who have done your own fantasy worlds for your stories, how involved and elaborate is your mythos? Do you have a creation myth for how your world and races developed? I decided to create one for the story I am starting to outline and flesh out. I think it helps me set the tone...

Trying to be less of a pant-ser

Most of my writing is short stories- I go in with a simple idea and that's it. Works okay most of the time. But for longer stories I struggle to create a coherent flow as I have an idea, and a few scenes that I want/need to occur, but the rest is badly connected with awful flow that I spend as...

    Changing point of view

Most of my book is from the view of the main character. But I do have sections where I flip to another characters viewpoint. How should I break these out chapter wise? They are smaller portions, always under 1500 words, some much slimmer. Do I give them their own chapters or do I insert them as...

    Open Ended vs Wrapped Up

Like the title says. Do you prefer the stories you write(or read) to have open endings or everything wrapped up. What makes a bad ending for you?
