    Writing Which is more difficult (subjective): narrating the MC according to the author's gender or narrating the MC different from the author's gender?

    This is just my opinion, but I sometimes wonder whether people make too big of a deal out of gender differences in writing. My approach has always been to treat my characters like believable people first and foremost, and whether they are male or female is secondary.
