As a reader: Which one do you like - a webby plot or a straight plot?

Hmm I see. Well as a reader, I suppose I prefer webby but only if it is done well. I feel that it could become very confusing if the author doesn't think things through, but if they do think things through that it makes for a much more interesting story. My own story is extremely webbed with so...

How many chapters do you expect per week for ongoing novel?

I would say that any less than 2 is unacceptable unless the 1 chapter is long.

Thoughts on Multiple Perspectives In A Story?

I can't personally imagine not writing a story from multiple perspectives. Writing a story only from the perspective of the mc..... how am I supposed to show anything? I can't show scenes of things happening elsewhere, I can't show scenes of other people's backstory, I can't do anything...

    Recommendations Adventure novels?

Hmm I would advertise my own novel as it does indeed contain adventures, exploration of a fantasy world, and things along those lines.... however.... good experiences.... Well, my novel is a bit too dark to be considered a light hearted adventure.

    Description or Dialogue...

I find that in my own writing I tend to have scenes of description and scenes of dialogue, so I try as hard as I can to even it at least a little. During the dialogue scenes fit in some description, and during the descriptions scenes fit in some dialogue.

    Criticism

A good question, and I would say no. If there is criticism that disregards the authors personal style and preferences, It it something that should be considered. But nothing more than that. If criticism forces you to write something that you yourself don't enjoy as much as you could have, then...

    Law of Magic

Strangely enough, my own world is actually the product of a computer simulation. Essentially, the law that governs the world is not a god, but rather an AI type computer that has some level of intelligence but it is merely law based intelligence for the most part. Basically, the AI will assign...

Most flattering or interesting review you've ever gotten?

This is the best review I've ever received I wish people would review more often but perhaps if they did more of them would be bad since people don't tend to review unless they really like it or really dislike it

    Connecting (Or not) Stories/Canons

I only have 2 total works but I did connect them in a few ways. 1. I ended up giving the mc of my current work a condition that is somewhat resembling of the mc of my first work, but with a significant twist to it. 2. I ended up creating a few characters who were completely different...

    Writing Making my first novel.

    1. As far as length goes I think that people are fine with anything between say 1500 and 3000. 2000 is a pretty good count to aim for, from what I have seen. 2. I don't even use grammarly, but that's probably a good idea. There's no need to hire an editor, but I'm sure there are some people on...

Stories with summaries as the title

I mean I personally find it to be kinda cheap. It's sorta like.... clickbait? Not that all clickbait is actually misrepresenting the content of the story, but essentially what's happening is people will see the title before anything else. When they see a title that describes the story, you're...

    My first novel

Good question I suppose it really depends on a lot of things, but I would say change up the wording and play with the tension a bit. Try to put in some sort of twist or cliffhanger that keeps the readers interested or something. Idk my writing isn't too good so this is all I can offer

    American Surnames. Explain!!

I mean we don't really get to choose our last names but for a lot of cases the last name was the family trade at some point in history. Baker, Carpenter, Smith, etc might be the profession of the family. As far as colors, yeah. There are some people with last names that are just colors. Green...
