Characterization will be easy.

Would it be for a high school audience or an older audience? That can dramatically change how you portray teenage characters and their issues in interesting ways

^ as no one or only a few read my stories, I don't cater to any audience. I just want to tell a story.

My idea, however, is about a teacher who ships students (the romance one, not human trafficking, lol), for a rom-com feel.
