One of mine also left when my dad was like 12-13.
And my grandpa from mother's side (mentioned earlier) ain't at all wholesome. We argume over serious things. Like he doesn’t love any of his kids other than the eldest son (who provides the most)

Had a grandpa that didnt talk the language (but chinese only) and very old and sick.

I don't know much about your family.
But calling everyone your grandpa's slave doesn't feel right. Everyone pampered him means he was loved by all (on the other hand, people just abandon their old parents. They don't even care to check of what they are doing or how they are doing)

In your family, your grandpa being cared might mean that he important to your family/respected by your family.
By your perspective, I feel he didn't have any way to convey how he felt about you....Maybe cause you didn't speak Chinese? idk
From my observations, grandparents love their grandkids more than their own kids in most of the cases.

In fact I also respect this chad of a man that came to a foreign country, had 5+ children, had a successful store that allow lot of them to have successful job (one of my aunt having a pharmacy and lot of money)

i also try to reason that he didnt try to insult me or basically tried his own manners to say i was "bad" for not helping the rest (they were trying to prepare bath for him while i stayed playing, its not like i could help anyway)

My grandma calls me Demon a literal DEMON for being an atheist. 
My Mom hates him because of that.
He's the type of typical grandpa who believes in old systems...religious bias, caste system, racism, nationalist...and much more

But now he's the one who put all his property on my name entirely.
I asked why he said nothing. When my Dad asked, " He doesn't differentiate anyone." was what my grandpa said.

Idk about others' grandparents but my grandma disliked girls. Like, only two of her grandchildren were girls and she hated us. She never talked to me as a child. And, the only blessing I got from her was "You shall be CURSED" lol. She used to curse people a lot. Made my mom's life hell till her last day.
