Xianxia is probably me being a wandering cultivator conquering or “conquering” all sorts of yaoguai (since we have so many creatures on SHF) and other cultivators, on my path to ascension. Someone like Tempokai or someone else can be that hella strict sect leader or master that brutalizes all the disciples
