@pangmida I've never really been on social media for the most part lmfao
Joined the internet at large in 2017 (to make a long story short, let's just say 'strict parents' lmao), made a Facebook, made a Twitter six months before the Musk takeover, deleted them both, then kinda just didn't use more than my phone number and Discord to talk to friends and family :P
Same this is the only social media I use nowadays. Out of everything—FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram... it's a little writing site's forums. And Discord, but that's a chatting app, not SM.
@AlexRiven201 I understand. Multiple people warned me that I wouldn't succeed at my old job if I didn't constantly keep my LinkedIn up to date. They were right, but it's just so tiresome to have a social media account just to brag about work accomplishments.
I really hope it's the former lmao
Tbqh I'm very afraid of the parasocial aspect of all this. I'm trying to be a serious writer at this point so I'm like... How do I even conduct myself? Purely corporate and professional? Do I hope I'm not annoying enough to check out my work and start demanding I set up proper tips or something? Or do I just silently drop my work on D2D and pray for the best?
Don't get me wrong, I'm still trying to be writing for fun, but my grandma demanded I send her a copy of some of my work when I told her I was writing (she's got a Master's in English so I figured she was going to give it back graded. She did - but it wasn't really about grammar or spelling or anything. And she even told me she thought I could get it published. So I'm trusting her on that lol
