So, writers wouldn’t say, "Oh! I can't draw and I am broke so I'm using AI."
What did people do when gen AI didn’t exist?

They stole pictures from artists on google. So nothing changed.

I feel called out

If it's personal use, so it doesn't need money
If it's commercial use, it's unethical.
Simple as that.
We can't avoid or barricade ourselves from AI, we need to learn and adapt to AI.
I used AI for references, when pinterest or any site can't find outfit or maybe references, I used AI to generate what I want as references. It's more efficient than searching.

Same with my friend, he has a client, the client wants this and that in their language not in technical language, so my friend use AI to generate transition and video from client language to technical language. After that, he knew what the client want, and use that generate videos as reference.

A lot of industry use AI to do like reverse engineering. They generate after that they review and use those as references. Because AI data center is basically from majority humans, if we generate something, the result is basically from majority. Even luxury branding, Louis Vuitton use AI but from the small companies who work with them.
