The forums have a bit of a nazi bar problem. The 'no politics' rule doesn't dissuade threads where people go into how 'woke' the video game industry is now because the games have *gasp* women or 'brown people' (actual quote) in them, but I've seen another thread about including real-life people which had people post their less than stellar opinions about the USA which quickly got nuked, lol

If I'm not mistaken, takedowns on the forums are usually done on a report-by-report basis, so whether or not a post stays up is mostly up to whether or not the observer personally takes issue with it. And of course, considering what side of the culture war a lot of this forum falls on, you can imagine what "no politics" practically means :blob_hmm:

It's a bit unprompted in that thread, but I was guilty of the same thing before.

I also thought the similar way months ago:

I'd rather see these threads be pushed back from users with different political belief and get locked than letting it to go unopposed and get locked. Because in the latter case, if you let things be, suddenly, there will be another interpretation of the no politics rule.

Well, the argument in said thread was "you have to take orders even if you disagree with what the work represents or you deserve to be replaced by AI", without fully understanding that an artist can't exactly detach themselves from such a work.

You know, i was being honest when i said i didn't read the thread. So i reread Tina's specific post without skimming it and they were the one who raised the topic right-wing topic first.

Or you can give consequences for rule violations like warnings and then bans. The problem is that doesn't happen. I am even including myself. If I violate rules, I would hope people report it. So I can get a warning.

Rules don't exist if they aren't enforced.

It's ok, it's just what I said was true, like after awhile people just argued points I straight up didn't say lmao. Painting a picture of me and stuck with it. i didn't even see the anti-woke stuff!

@OtherSlater don't worry, I was just replying to a post someone praised which was 'artists deserve AI because they're picky about the commissions they take' because an artist didn't want to illustrate a right-wing children's book. *Someone* took issue with me saying that this is why rightwingers and fascists often resort to the slop machine.

The first reply on here was more general grievances about who is really helped on this forum by the 'no politics' rule, since nastiness like that just gets to propagate.
