No, no, I mean, my students often ask me "Sir, why are you always referring to yourself as 'lechon' or 'fugly?'"

So I tell, tis my defense mechanism. Accept reality, then the insult isn't insulting anymore.

Repeat it so much that the word loses it's meaning. Makes sense.

Yeah, hence even when someone throws an insult, I just accept and move on.

Less conflict, more peace.

Or… repeatedly gas yourself up until you believe you’re the most handsome, most ethereal being in the world, that all compliments just become factual. Then all insults are simply false. “Me? Ugly? Psh. You’re wrong but it’s ok.”
