It is! One of my favorite animes of all time. The movie was also amazing, especially for 16-year old me, when I didn't even know what a good anime looked like.

Without giving spoilers all I can say is that it has a slow start, if you are watching it for the first time, but there is a reason it is known as one of the best anime of all time.
