Can it be said that literature back then were more plot-driven, while modern literature are more character-driven?

Hmm... I suppose it can be... also if think readers these days are more genre savvy so, they are looking for more than plot, I think.

My writing cues were taken from classical readings and Charles Dickens. Hence I will never be popular.
