Look for mold if you have the ability also, if you have yet to, see a doctor. There are many potential causes, one of the first things that the doc will recommend is a chest X-ray, they might also do an allergy test. It is possible that you grew allergic to a particulate that you were not previously.
Do allergy meds like Benadryl, Xertec, Xyzal, etc. help. Often they are cheaper than albutrol. Don’t use them as a substitute for your actual meds though.
I caught a cold earlier this week and went through a box of albutrol and 3 boxes of tissues. Sleeping on an incline helps, strangely Benadryl did too but I had to stop after 2 days of 2 pills a day because of brain fog. It is weird but sometimes it is that allergies make illnesses worse.
@ElijahRyne I've burned thru Co-Amoxiclav, Cefuroxime, Azythromycin and lots of anti-asthma like Salbutamol, but the phlegm stays in my lungs. Been to the doctor two times since December 10.
Have you tried atrovent with your albutrol, and have you been prescribed an oral steroid? If not you might bring this up with your doctor and see if they believe this might help. By the looks of it, with the medicine you mentioned it seems like you probably have a bacterial infection of some sort. Are you on a 4 hour rotation with your nebulizer?
Don’t mean to spam, but you mentioned mucus stuck in your lungs. If your coughs are not productive, trying stuff like chest percussion may help if you are not yet doing so. Essentially it is a way of repeatedly patting the back, and chest generally, to aid in loosening mucus.
@ElijahRyne no, not yet. Doctor said I should have an X-Ray should this worsen by Tuesday (which is tomorrow). I'll see what she'll give me once I got an x-ray.
My cough is sometimes dry, and sometimes with phlegm.
