They will consume unfathomable amounts of electricity and have a toll on the power grid that will make people have to pay more. But those people that have to pay more were laid off for a bot.

I'm not Knowledgeable about this adult thingies. I'm just a teenager who uses social platforms like IG or fb bcz my friends do so. But in the past few months, I have noticed that doomscrolling literally makes me feel hollow. Like, I'm lost. It leaves me depressed and nothing to think about.

Unlike books. Books will give me something to think about even after finishing it. I definitely need to lessen my screentime

I don't know of anyone who has a healthy relationship with social media. They have designed it to keep people on it as long as possible. That's why I try to avoid them. The social medias I use are Discord, Scribble Hub, and YouTube. To be fair, you cannot completely avoid social media. In order to avoid it, you would also have to convince your friends.

Take my following words with a large grain of salt, I am not an expert in the field, and the following is all opinion and speculation. We are in a massive bubble when it comes to AI. Traditional computing hardware is being sold to such AI startups causing the price for budget stuff to increase. Most of which are fairly economically useless LLM’s and Picture/Video generating models.

Also the advancement on better computers/phones/tablets/etc. is at the point where you don’t need to replace your device every year or two to keep up. This is bad for most smart electronics manufacturers because the customers that are willing to buy any new device has begun shrinking.

. Tech aimed at the middle class is now aimed at higher end customers, as the current economic moment has shaken the stability of what remains of the ever shrinking middle class.

Most companies making budget/cheaper devices have been outcompeted by Chinese companies in that field. With the recent tariffs the budget options have just become more expensive.

TL;DR: In my opinion, a combination of the AI bubble increasing prices, a shrinking consumer base, and tariffs have increased the price of budget smart devices and electronics in general.

That is more or less accurate without getting too much into politics. People have completely sold themselves to billionaires without caring at all. It's so cooked that people will keep making their own lives worse. The divide is so crazy. If you took a small country like Montenegro, their richest person is closer to our average poor person than they are to our richest person.

Are you sure though that the devices are getting worse? Or just more expensive? Or the price quality ratio?

They are getting worse since the companies are downgrading the ram. The system that you would have spent 1k for is now a worse system. In many cases, people won't even be able to buy a good system
