Ugh Idk why people hate it. But well I loved it. Especially the first season. People say that it doesn’t follow the main story of Wednesday or smth. Well, that's not my concern lol. I just liked the series.

There are shows like Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, Stranger Things. But after a few seasons, they all get kind of wacky story wise for various reasons. 
I think shows like Wednesday are hard to come by. There might be similiar underrated shows like this, but I doubt you will find them easily. Since mainstream shows have a better PR or such.

@Nevafrost this is my personal opinion, so please take it with a grain of salt.
The premise of the show is very similar to the infamous Twilight series (as in supernatural romance), but Vampire Diaries does it better.
It's a bit too violent for a show aimed at teens, especially the first few episodes. Like, there is some neck snapping, heart ripping, blood and death. There is no gore per se.

There were some weird things that I only realized later on after watching the show.

For one thing, the FMC is a high schooler and her love interests (there are two vampire brothers, so a love triangle) are century old vampires. So, there is a weird age-gap situation, but since all the actors involve look to be in their early 20s or older, you could think of them as university students.

There are some really hot vampires in the show, but most of them are jerks, or serial killers. There is some weird couple shipping from the fans, but that happens to almost every show.
I think they handled the supernatural aspect well and added some nice twists to the traditional vampire lore. Although, I think the way they handled the Season 4, and Seasons after, was a bit lazy. But this is a subjective opinion.

There were also some really weird and sus moments.
For example, vampires in this show can hypnotize people (they call it compulsion), and one of the vampire brothers uses it to (I'm not sure how to say this) sleep? with a certain blonde girl, and he erases her memory of the whole thing. It was really creepy and the show tries to wave it off and move on. So, a trigger warning for this.

There are some memorable characters in the show, and some genuinely emotional moments. Like, FMC has a cool witch friend, a cool teacher guy, and some more, but I won't give too many spoilers.
The show definitely has some issues, but I still recommend giving the Season 1 a chance.
Also, try Teen Wolf too, if you like this one, it has similar vibes.
