I don't trust any actors that aren't under the influence of spirits.

If they had to kill someone from their own village, they will not say, "I killed them." They would say, "the spirits/gods/god used me to destroy their evil spirits." But it would be hard to erase this concept of "me" or "I" completely. I guess the person would say it in third person perhaps? "Spirits possessed John/Jane to destroy their evil spirits."

If there is no free will in this village, why would there be infighting?

If it's that spirits are possessing each person and the spirits have their own agendas, separate from each other, would you not be able to rationalize that it's the characters having free will, just making it so that their egos are actually the spirits possessing them?
