Probably because they are a small 'indie' team of 30+ people and the fact that their creative director and lead developer have work on and shipped multiple AAA games.

Indie just means independent, it doesn’t have anything to do with budget.

Its worse than that, it was straight up slave labour.

But as the Happiness Manager(and a dog) he was probably forced to say hes happy to not get paid so the human can be happier with more monies.

Envy is blackmailing him.

Pats aren't going to help with his dogfood bills.

Even small companies are taking advantage of their employees. I hope they hire a cat next time, that will teach them a lesson.
