It's hard to do it, and also I would need to think about it. My intuition wants to say that this is also not healthy and will lead to something similar. However, people also need to look after themselves. You can't look after others if you don't have anything. The risk is that you become selfish to make it and maintain that afterwards.
Basically, you might need to become selfish to make it, but what happens when you make it? Can you go back to that unselfish person? I think you could if you had friends that would call you out.
A great deal of hate, sometimes disguised as advice, is merely attempts to shut others out of the attention market. I continue existing to spite my haters. I won't let them shut me down. I started spiting when they started hating. But I don't have to put any effort into it. My mere continued existence spites those who wish to see me give up.
I think this is a grave mistake people make. Those people aren't paid actors or attempts to shut others out. They actually believe the shit they say. Think about it like this, one person makes it after suffering a lot, and they want to tell the next person they need to suffer like them. They really believe it to be true. They are not paid or grifting in many cases.
