I've never had numbing spice before, is it not hot?

@Prince_Azmiran_Myrian It’s hot, but it’s a different hot from the western peppery spice! The Sichuan peppercorn would give your tongue a numbing sensation. Helps you eat more. It’s honestly kind of addicting haha. It’s also often used in hot pot. You’re also Texan, right? Plenty of Chinese/Sichuan restaurants around, especially in the big cities like Houston! I recommend trying some one day. ☺?

Chinese food has never been my favorite, but maybe I'll try it next time.

Numbing spice?
Not for me.
I like the rich, multilayered but gentler flavors like chinese soups and slowcooks braised meats.

I would make homemade Mapo tofu noodles a lot when I was first on my own and wow did it numb the senses.

The thing with the numbing spice... it changes the flavor of the dish as you eat because your taste buds are dulled by the spice , so the dish taste different from beginning compare to the end...
