The problem is that after the whole Queen helping the Shield Hero and the Pope of the Three Heroes killed, the tension takes a nose dive.
The whole multiverse thing with a hero-killer makes it so much worse.
Then came the final revelation that a certain bitch is actually Goddess Bitch and I am officially more lost than the missing pair of sock in the washer.

I enjoyed parts of the first season, especially how miserable the MC was at the start. The dynamic between him only being able to use a shield and Raphtalia being his sword was cool, but I could sense in the air that the author wasn't intending on making my guy deadweight on offense forever. Also the other heroes and the rest of the kingdom were way too inept and goofy for me to care about or take seriously.
