8 hours and 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week is how long one of my younger brothers is at school. This is only a technicality though, because if you are within 20 feet of a school bus, you are legally considered as being "on school property", thus, at school. He is on the bus for about 30 minutes every day, with 10 minutes in the morning, and 20 minutes in the afternoon.

It was longer when I was a kid, because the school day started at 6:30 AM after 30 minutes sitting in a bus, and I would get home at 4:30 PM after the school day ended at 4:00 PM.

School is literally a full-time, unpaid desk job internship, where you get a certificate that says you completed your internship if you complete all 13 years of it. If you are good enough at your job, you can get a couple years knocked off of your necessary time. The awards ceremonies are basically just employee of the month awards with a few diversity awards mixed in.

Also, if you miss enough days, they can extend the time you need, and if you really miss a lot of days, then they fire you, cutting off your future job prospects. And this all happens in a place that is literally just a prison with a slightly brighter color palette. Also, you are legally required to check in 5 days per week.

8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Saturday was around 3 hours.

9am till 3pm for my country, we even got an hour break for lunch so it's only 5h a day 5 days a week. This was the same from primary school all the way to highschool.

My shrimp highschool started at 7.30 and ended at 4, and we're still dumb as hell.
