.... but where would you insert?

I'll figure it out. I always have a knife if I can't.

Where would the eggs be, that only women have?
Napelynn
Napelynn
Surgery? I guess. I mean, I might not have children or could find an actual female and just use my clone for... you know what
CadmarLegend
CadmarLegend
But the question is.... how would you clone yourself?
Napelynn
Napelynn
There was a cloned sheep called Dolly. I could just follow that procedure, maybe? I didn't really look into it too much.

Look into it. Stare into the pits of its soul.

I think they just artificially combined germ cells after removing the nucleus of the egg cell, so the offspring only had genes from the sperm cell, and therefore was a clone.

CadmarLegend
Okay, but what about the DNA from parents?
Napelynn
Napelynn
What do you mean?
CadmarLegend
CadmarLegend
The DNA in the nucleus? Did they keep that and then remove the nucleus?
Napelynn
Napelynn
They removed the nucleus of the egg cell, DNA and all. Otherwise, the offspring would still be a mix between the parents instead of a clone

Oh. So I take it that they kept the mitochondria, the lysomes, and golgi apparatus?
Napelynn
Napelynn
I don't think germ cells have those in the first place though...
CadmarLegend
CadmarLegend
.... no mitochondria? How did they create energy then?
Napelynn
Napelynn
They have a mitochondria, but not the other things
CadmarLegend
CadmarLegend
Then how did the mitochondria function without a nucleus?
Napelynn
Napelynn
The sperm kept its nucleus, the egg didn't, the sperm is the only one that needs to move

Oh! I thought you were talking about the germ cells, though?
Napelynn
Napelynn
Sperm and egg are both germ cells. Should I have called them sex cells?
