Not really. DF depnds on how much creative you are like Stringe, or experience so you can awaken them. For haki, yeah it comes from willpower, but that's not really it. It also involves luck, Conquererd haki. Others like armament and Observation rely heavily on experience. Basically, its a cycle of luck and guts.

To me, the lack of any interesting DF kind of sucks.
Because the base game is literally DF followed by swordsmanship (I pity Zoro) and then other things like Six Forms etc.
Haki came in as a clutch to deal with Logia after it was top game, but now it seems that Haki becomes the new hotness.
