Eg. When he gains Luke Cage's superpower aka super skin and strength that comes with it, MC can only use a small portion at first as his body is slowly adapting to it the more he has the power ON.
He can swap to other superpowers by switching Luke's power OFF, but due to his body has adapted, it still has a small amount within.
Meaning he can still use trace amounts of powers even when not equipping.
