Alex used his human looks to gain more followers. Not everyone wants to turn into a tentacle monster, so he offers people power that will not change their looks.

Why he fights in human form, I have no idea.

There's a thing called bioelectric code scientists can change to change the shape of your body, apparently (it can also order your cells to grow more limbs or heads or eyes or order mutated cancer cells behave like normal cells). But since your DNA doesn't change, there should be a hard limit to what shapes your body can support.

Answer is bc in the era when the game was out, deviancy........well......wasnt mainstream like it is now.

Pre corona (or earlier) : being deviant/pervert = bad
Now ? Being a furry/gay/pervert/yandere/goth/otaku/animeweeb/marrying your pillow/etc = good

Or like CNs.

If before you had lot of cultivators (humans) as MC
now you can see lot of non-humans MC

(heck now you just reminded me that i saw a recent tentacles-mc series, something about the women crying to "catch him", basically its tentacles can "boost" them)

But now ? Being edgy and handsome is less important and people degenerated into just liking evilness. To the point that they wish to see zerg-MC devouring galaxy, etc.

Evilness was rare in stories.
And like sugar/drugs, the more you eat, the more you crave a more heavy taste. Hence "less human+more evil"
