I think there's a good chance that all the alien sightings and abductions are really supernatural rather than otherworldly.

To me, it's easier to believe in the existence of extraterrestrial because it makes fewer assumptions

Earth has life, the universe is all made of the same stuff, the universe is also really big, so life could also be elsewhere.

Meanwhile, for the supernatural, you kinda have to assume that a separate plane of existence seemingly unbound by our natural laws exists.
