It is what it is. Stories are broken up into parts, let alone many for a few reasons.

1. More posts.

2. More manageable for the general readers.

Many readers can only hold their attention for around 2k words.

You might be able to get away with 3k, but 2k is the safe spot. Unless they want something rushed, they also have to meet at a halfway point.

More parts = More fleshed out story.

Less parts = Less fleshed out story.

I don’t like this format myself, I still hate it. Though, that’s the adjustment that has to be made.

That's why I write long chapters. I'd rather tie up everything in one go.

if there's more than three parts to a chapter I'm tempted to hunt the author for sport
