Not sure if the same question is meant to apply for university. But all the departments are equivalent where I am.
But I'm also at one of the top ranking schools in my country. So it may just be that?

Absolutely. Humanities make more money than STEM does these days. My automotive course frequently has to get into protracted arguments with the college to get funding for minor things.

It's kind of the opposite where I am.
The science buildings were all newly built and even got a completely new campus just for them, while arts and humanities had all the old, run-down buildings and stayed on the old campus.
