I have a feeling that you're the kind of teacher whose presence can make the whole class go silent. But it's not because the students fear being thrown out of the classroom; rather, they love what you talk about.
??? That sounds so cute. I would like to hear a teddy bear teaching us how to solve maths or what happened in the WW2. That would be so interesting lmao
And really, my students get noisy coz yeah, it's either I do something they like (like playing beyblade with them lol) or talk sense to them (especially about heartbreaks and romance).
Would crack jokes from time to time, like, "This is how you slice your cheating BF's neck." while slicing carrots.
But more than that, I'd love talking to them about their personal problems. Lots of these kids have family problems, and teenage issues like self-acceptance and similar stuff.
@Nevafrost I wouldn't call myself a therapist; having lost two students to suicide made me like that. But lemme tell you, in my attempt to save or at least alleviate my students' suffering, I suffered myself.
Stories of rape, molestation, other abuses that I have to carefully treat, or I'd lose my charges. I don't want to lose a student to suicide ever again, but it's traumatic.
As a high school student myself, I can say that talking to someone helps A LOT, which I’m failing to do. I feel like my heart would feel so much lighter if I could just talk to someone about what I’m keeping inside."
Aye, that's why, even if it's quite difficult and exhausting, I always make sure I'm 'there' for my students to rant to. Heh, don't care even if it's about their subjects, as long as they can 'breathe', this fine.
