My first guesses K8 doesn’t work because of the atari and L9=Ko at best case, unless I am being stupid.

So let’s evaluate the board B has 20is points in the upper right, 15ish in the upper left, about nine in the bottom right, a 5ish point group at J1, and about ten in the lower left. W has about 16 points with the G2 group, 3ish points with the O1 group, 6.5 komi, and let’s assume 2 points with the f18 group. B=59 W=27.

White currently has two weak groups, at F18 and L5. Black has 2 weak groups at N4 and k17. W’s win condition is to kill B’s N4 group and make sure B doesn’t make many more points. B’s win condition is to live at N4 and settle the K17 group without giving W many points.

B ideally should simultaneously strengthen their N4 group while spitting W’s F18 and L5 groups. The shoulder hit, one space jump, the knights cap, and traditional cap can be cut/are too weak.

M11 final answer.

M11 is exactly the move I played! When I was reviewing the game, AI seemed to like doing something more directly to either the L5 or N17 -- M11 is like trying to do both but doing neither particularly well. Honestly, black probably has a lot of ways to play and still do well.
