Is it exclusively affecting your fingers? If not, what else.
Additionally, you say this is recurring. Can you recall when it first started occurring? Has this happened since childhood or is it a later development?
Honestly it should just be due to dry skin.
But are your fingers blistering or rashing at all? Or is this instead just peeling and flaky skin.
Last few questions. Do you fidget? Are you aware of any form of odd sleep behavior? Finally, do you pull at or otherwise aggravate your fingers?
This is likely due to dry skin or a poorly maintained lipid barrier.
So first of all, be careful if you get any infections. Skin like that can allow them to get pretty bad.
But to prevent it in the future try try to limit using hot water. After washing your hands, remember to apply moisturizer afterwards.
Just gentle soap and moisturizer should at least help mitigate this.
Additionally (in regards to melchi) moisturizer is important regardless of climate. Humidity really doesn't replace moisturizer, as your skin often doesn't absorb water from the air all that well. Moisturizer also has other benefits beyond just moisture.
I'm going to sleep now, but I will mention that alcohol does dry out your hands.
So that likely is a part of it, but trying to use gentler soaps and moisturizer will help even if that is the primary cause.
