Wait, can you smack students in the philipines still?

No, we can't. 'sides, I like my students to take a break for once, having gone through a hell-week recently.

With diligent studying comes time for fun. ?

But I do smack my students in the head whenever they slash their wrists.

But it's fun to layeth the smackdown on people.

Our Education Department declared it as "child abuse", so nyet.

IT's not child abuse to set them straight before they grow up crooked.

I do smackdowns, verbally though.

Physical smackdowns happen when my students get suicidal and hurt themselves.

Modeled after American education system, they force us to "positively discipline" children.

Well, this is not to say I'm not losing patience with my class. One of my pet peeves is the repeated giving of instructions when I did all my best to explain everything to them beforehand.

And my students know it, so they avoid pissing me off.

The only thing that separates me from other teachers they purposefully annoy is that I can be their reliable friend, even outside class hours.

Remember, you're never really a student's friend. You might be their counselor for a time, but you can't be their friend.
I am friendly to the people I work with, but I'm not their 'friend' because when shit hits the fan I throw them all under the bus.
