I would rather nerf them than upscale the power level excessively for other professions.

One reason I seldom read those kind of stories is that the power level is too imbalanced and/or exaggerated.

For example, I dropped a story because at some point, the characters were able to cut a whole fucking universe in half with a casual move.

End game xianxia is too BS.
But so is end game mages. They even have the Wish spell.
Because in technical sense they are the same.

Physical classes such as knights and martial artists stand no chances, which is why some authors would have them practise breathing techniques and/ or fighting styles that can affect the cosmos as well in end game.
Because without it, the physical fighters are just high HP sandbags.
