She is the hardest character to raise, but also the only permanent one on the field. It’ll save you a lot of problems later down the line.

The rest can focus more on the secondary line.

In terms of progression, by the end. It feels very satisfying from taking a character insanely weak, to someone insanely busted lol.

Story, I’d call it the best they had done. Gameplay wise, definitely up there. Strategic elements? The game will make you think, especially early to mid.

What makes Marona so hard to raise are several points.

1. She is the only character that cannot reincarnate.

2. Her weapon mastery is horrendous.

3. Her damage output is extremely bad at first.

4. She will predominantly rely on title and weapon boosts for stats.

5. Increasing steal stat is a must to prevent her from getting her weapon stolen.

If she is knocked out, you are literally moments away from a Game Over, so her priority is very important.

Stat barrier starts to come in at around 5M, but it isn’t too hard to get into. I maxed her stats like 5 times at 9,999,999. Yeah, I played the game a few times lol.

I vaguely remember playing Phantom Brave on PS2... members nothing else tho... :sweating_profusely:

It sounds cool, but unfortunately, I have played/grinded enough Disgaea 5 or this type of game to last me a lifetime.

Lol

Don’t worry too much, the grind isn’t as bad as Disgaea 5. ?

Rather, when you get going. It gets faster to do. The real challenge of the game is the strategical part.

Phantom Brave works with characters that can only be on the field for a certain amount of turns. This creates a huge barrier already, it means grinding becomes harder.

Though, this can be offset by dungeon diving and getting weapons to fuse to boost stats. In terms of difficulty though, it would be far harder than any Disgaea game.

In terms of progression, it would feel closer to what Disgaea 1 and 2 are. The progress is steady, so it feels fulfilling. However, it also isn’t too slow or too fast.

Story wise, it is one of the darkest stories they made, and one of the most tragic ones.
