Pushing realism and nerfing the fun out of it, when they could clearly copy magneto style where its total bs but everyone is fine of it and LOVE IT.

CLEARLY EVERYONE. Millions, no, BILLIONS of people are potential customers that crave this idea.
But NO ONE do it.
Until a random guy blogpost create a random webcomic with the idea, and successfully get manga/anime and famous IP.
