I think the peak activity was mostly due to the Covid and quarantine.

It may have contributed, but it was just one of many causes, and not nearly the most important of them.

@HelloHound I feel like the worst thing it did is pigeonholed a fraction of an already small forum in a single thread, well, profiles as well. Now that it is dead, those people won't start making threads about writing or fun stuff. Before this thread came to be they made threads, albeit seldom.
