:blob_no: I can't believe it's gone down like this. I'll probably buy it at a discount just because I want to see what happens to Solas, but... :c I'm so disappointed by the reviews and the story's loss of integrity. Can't believe the same people made DA, DA2, DAI and ME trilogy

Same people didn't make DA, DA2, DAI and ME trilogy. People who made those games are long gone. The only thing that stayed the same is the name of the studio.

Also, that's the point I find funny. You don't like the game based on reviews, but you are still thinking of buying it. If you(generic you) don't like how the game looks like in reviews, don't buy it. Simple as. I didn't like Elden Ring, so I won't buy DLC. I ain't giving them a dollar.

Well, I'm committed to the story, so I want to see the end if it is the end. Gameplay doesn't seem so bad, and heck reviews aren't everything. Just sad it's turned out like that. I find some games that are reviewed as trash, and I find charm in them. I know it's not the same people but company, but heck, I at least expect the same, but that's asking too much these days.

I wish more people would follow through with that.

@KoyukiMegumi 1. You can't expect the same from different people. It is not possible. It wasn't possible back then, and all the good examples are exceptions to the rule.

2. Reason for buying it doesn't matter, but that's not the point. It looks like CoD boycott all over again, and I find both situations hilarious.

Well, It's like saying you can't expect the same service from a joint when a new crew is running it. Bioware should have had its own style, which should've been the focus of the hiring process, but yeah, I guess you're right. Quality and individuality are two different things that have gone down the drain.

You can't compare the two because game development is a creative process, in addition it is notoriously chaotic. You can hire great professionals, but they can have a different vision. When opinions of great people collide, and you have deadlines hanging, it can change everything. And let's be honest, in our day and age no one is hiring professionals only. HR hires to fill the quota.

You can because there is supposed to be an order when creating things unless it's entirely new, but that's what's been lost. They hire newbies who don't know what they're doing while the senior talent meant to lead them leaves. There should always be a style and a leader to follow and guide the flock, which these days doesn't exist, and that's why chaos reigns. The good old days are gone.

This happens mostly to Western studios, too. Look at Square and Nintendo. They can still send out bangers, even if some have their quality in the gutter. Atlus too. Atlus can literally take my money at full price, and I won't complain.

That's the point of gaming industry, there is no order. When you make a new game, which DA veilguard falls into, there is no order. There is order when you make a new CoD or AC, when you make a conveyor game. Even then it can still be chaotic. You should listen to all the devs, and I mean not the star devs that did legendary games, but current devs that leave companies and share their experience.

Well, DAV isn't a "new game" in the sense of a new IP. It's a follow-up to DAI, which is where they screwed up. A new IP to me is something like Atlus Metaphor, which has more forgiveness than a sequel will. There should be an order for a sequel, as you have a prequel to lean on. It shouldn't be the Wild West, which is why the Witcher games were so good, even though I bet those were chaotic, too.

DAV is more like AC but should've been better.

It's not a new IP, but it has new gameplay.

Witcher games were not only chaotic, they had terrible crunches.

True, it has new gameplay, which might be the only good thing going for it. The gaming industry has always been crappy to their workers, but at least some good creative things came out of them, even if they weren't ethical. I guess it takes to break something to make something good, which is sad.
