But wat if, during the leveling up, the player can choose for basic leveling up or gamble their level up; if they win they get extra AP than standard leveling but if they lose, less AP than standard.

And having level gate that requires clearing quests in order to level up like how cultivators did.

..........Its simply old school (discarded) randomized lvling up.

And also "lvl limits" unlocks. (achievement/quest/dungeon to beat or get)


But basically, your idea is true, but already done, and no longer used.

I got the idea from DnD HP dice roll and never knew that MMORPGs already did it
