Bonfire Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Night.
It's a British celebration to commemorate the foiling of the gunpowder plot where Guido Fawkes - known as Guy Fawkes - was about to light a fuse that would lead to the blowing up of parliament.

Of course, he was just a mercenary hired to do the job but everyone remembers the event by his name.
GF was hung, drawn and quartered for treason cos of it - I think.
The tradition is to burn an effigy of GF in a bonfire. Most people don't but it's where Bonfire Night came from.
A lot of people don't do the effigy part these days - myself included.
Lots of fireworks go off, people have huge bonfires, have barbeques, bonfire toffee, parkin in the North, carved pumpkins sometimes, etc...
There's even a poem kind of thing that goes along with Bonfire Night, though people don't really say it these days:
