Any exemple?
The two novel I think of instantly when it come to Vrmmorpg are Overgeared and The legendary moonlight sculptor, with both having hidden class at the start. The hidden class are not only for the mc and other players can gain some.

But I understand the part with plot armor.

I don't have any examples when it comes to novels. But I do have some when it comes to games. The most simple one being Total War Warhammer 3. You open a new character by clearing the game in a certain way. Why not do a similar thing for MMO? To open a hidden class, you have to level up, for example, warrior to lvl 90, and do certain thing on a new character.

Whatever you decide to do, make MC actually do work and research. Mentione how he tried this and that, how his previous attempts resulted in nothing, and so on.

I don't know yet, but I though of having him be a beta tester before the official launch, and instead of grind level like other he stayed in the range of the 1 to 20lv to try a lot of things, like which class/race are better for him wich one are compatible, the dungeons etc.

And having him going into a dungeons he already know from the beta and done hundred time only to find this time there some details that change compared to all his try on this specific dungeon.
Something like in the legendary moonlight sculptor where he find a hidden dungeon inside a dungeon

Beta testing is once again more of a luck rather than skill, in my opinion.

Yeah in some way it is, you need to get chosen for the testing phase :blob_neutral:

At the same time, this is a matter of taste, and I simply share what I like or dislike. You make the decision.
