You look up to see a hideous ghoul clung to the ceiling. The room, too dark for you to see places you at a disadvantage. Most of its body, clad in shadow is an utter mystery to you, but what you can see is the creature of a nightmare. Its bald head had loose strands of hair.

If it was an old corpse its hair would have fallen out long ago the fact that there was any hair at all suggests that just five days ago this ghoul was walking among us, and perhaps it had tugged out its hair in manic rage toward its existence. Perhaps this ghoul had some consciousness left, itself knowing it should never have came to be.

Next, you notice its exposed ribs, It's certainly no fantastical assumption that a corpse could decay to the point that bones were showing, but this ghoul had been made recently. What's more, the bones were snapped and fractured with the ghoul's intestine hanging out, almost dangling upon your face. If it wasn't for that awful saliva this would've surely been the first part you noticed about the creature.

The original owner of this body was viciously beaten to death with the sole purpose of turning this body into a servant of death. You can't even fully grasp the tragedy as your attention is stolen by its crimson-glowing eyes staring you down, accompanied by a pale rotting abomination of a face. Compared to what you've already seen this is nothing special, what catches your eye even more is its behavior that follows.

It growls at you, indicating its hostility but it still makes no move, instead, it pierces your gaze with a petrifying stare of its own. The ghoul may have had consciousness before you arrived but now it's nothing more than a feral beast. Any hope of restoring it to its former form is eternally lost. However, the beast is still not stupid. Like a hunter, it waits for you to make the first move before striking.

Urgently, you sprint out into the moonlight hoping its speed hasn't been enhanced. You do fairly well for a few minutes, turning sporadically in hopes of confusing the beast but eventually, it pounces and pins you to the ground. Its flabby body is too heavy for you to pry the beast off of you. You know you are doomed but you still use all of your strength to helplessly struggle to cling on to dear life.
