Either that, or some random dude scaled a mountain to remove it from the stone wall it was wedged in.

Oh, right. French knights vs English knights.

It's basically French King Arthur.

:blob_neutral: Arthur is fiction. Charlemagne, meanwhile, was real and great indeed. Also, emperor.

I know Charlemagne was real. He's one of my ancestors.

Most popular Arthurian legends come from French writings, some loosely based on the knights of the Carolingian circle.

Yeah, my moms side of the family traces it's roots through King Henry the 8th and Charlemagne.

:blob_neutral: I will give you the benefit of doubt, but I remain unconvinced, to be honest. Unless you can produce the ancestral documentation.

That's fair. My mother had checked back in 2012 and told me so I would have to see if she still has the ancestry docs.

I envy the people who have a completely documented ancestry. :blob_blank:

:blob_joy: Don't worry, most have holes. The large revolts of the 13th, 15th and the wars of the 16th destroyed most records of that time. All ancestry records become tenuous by then at best. Most sites that sell them are thus scams.

My ancestry dates back to my grandparents generation at most. Not the same.

That's kind of how it is with my dad's side of the family. My great grandfather was an Italian immigrant and we have little to no knowledge of anything family-wise before that.

I used to do genealogy research for people. Tracing ancestry is a multi generational effort, time and money consuming and alot of dead ends.

So having documented records are a lot of help.

Haha, my dad side has Chinese roots…?

Mission impossible. Plus I hate my dad’s family side.

I find it interesting that almost all of my threads and pfps devolve into a different topic.
