I think if I ever want to complete a story that I like and has a very considerable length, I'd have to start with a oneshot, then slowly add details to the world or write small developments until I have enough and then synthesise the story out of these bits when there is enough quantity to cause a qualitive transformation

But right now I'm drained of the will to do any of that. I will continue to read books until I want to write something again
