From all of my forum posts, do you think I still write for myself, or just for the view and so on and so fort? Because I am beginning to doubt. I don't know, my stories are doing ok, but I just feel that the extra work is too much. It takes me about half an hour per day to just update stories. Today I dumped a shit ton of chapters just to lessen the backlog.

And I still have like 4 stories I am updating on AO3.

I think you are obsessed with being a writer. I don’t know if it’s for you or your obsession.

In a sense it is for yourself, in a sense it’s for your validation. It’s a hard question to answer without delving deep.

I know it wasn’t me who was asked, but Sailus is in the middle of doing an event on discord right now.

I know I have an obsessive personality. It is just that I don't know why I write. It feels good, but the updating is a drag. The problem is, that I have readers who want to read the story to the end. I felt awful when I deleted the first attempt for my current project.

It’s fine as long as you make sure to take care of your health and your mind while doing it, take breaks when you need it.

You are not hurting anyone, just make sure you don’t harm yourself while doing it and it’s fine.

You become obsessed with word counts and arbitrary things. Word counts are the main thing I see you posting a lot about. It's an addiction. I had become addicted to writing at one point. I wrote about 8k words daily, but it was not good for me. Also, if you want to improve your writing, sometimes you have to do something else.
