@MintiLime It is the sense of "shame" that gnawed on my tits really.
Felt hypocritical.
Also like I said, MC's arrival has already ruined this nice boy's life who has did nothing wrong, what exactly is the difference between killing him in an instant by sitting on his face or smouldering him to death by sitting on his face unbeknownst to the sitter?
@NotaNuffian that last comment is so hilarious, especially with context
The MC is actually a more calculating type, and the soul is more pure and good
Points to the soul being eaten, because it’s actively hijacking the MC’s personality, often by making the MC try to sacrifice themselves for their teammates.
So you can imagine the soul sitting there laughing like “man, I’m gonna kill you in the coolest way possible”
In reality the novel is actually really good if you turn off your brain, the soul takeover bit was only revealed to be a problem most of the way through the plot so it’s messing with the MC’s head more. Like all the ‘cool’ parts of the MC was actually someone else.
The largest part of the conflict is that once the ‘plot’ of the game ends and the soul is completely consumed, all of the soul’s influence will be extinguished- meaning all of the courage and power and stuff will be gone. No more protagonist halo.
The partner has discovered this information due to the MC’s desire to be the one they truly love, and it’s now possible the partner will offer the MC up to the demons.
... I am reading words and am having a slight difficulty to grasp it.
1. The snack bar soul is a-okay with MC NTRing?
2. MC is getting Johnny Silverhanded?
3. MC is screwed once the snack bar is over?
4. Partner (aka the gal) knows about MC's presence and about to pull a sodomy?
The little darkness in my heart claps with glee knowing that this might be the best Bad End with the soul, courageous as he is, ends up deleted with the last view being his partner signing a pact with the devil, MC losing all shits as his buff is gone and partner fucking everything up in name of revenge/ bringing soul back.
1. Soul’s main goal was to repair his family’s lost honor (his entire family was wiped out when his grandfather tried to assassinate the emperor) which the MC is doing gloriously using his knowledge of the game. The soul seems somewhat suicidal and is happy the goal is being achieved.
3. Unless the MC manages to convince everyone else he isn’t a demon/devil (he’s been pretty freely using game knowledge about the enemies and it’s getting suspicious), he’s toast. No family, plenty of enemies, his mentor was the best friend of his grandfather and will probably blow up if he finds out what’s going on.
