Well the protagonist was quite unimpressive and did nothing to gain praise, getting told that he's an amazing wizard but don't casting until that point one spell.

:blob_hmm: Not that necessarily. Harry Potter is a teenager story of a boy growing up experiencing adventurers. It is not the story of Harry Potter ruthless super badass beating the crap out of everyone.

Power fantasies are very often projected onto him, but he is probably the most unsuitable character for this you can imagine.

I rarely see HP fanfics where he's the protagonist
in my opinion, he's like one of the weakest part of the original story
the world building and the power system is so much more interesting
