It depends on the reason I didn't enjoy the book. If it's because I don't like their writing style, then yes.

Generally yes, although it's a bit more complicated than that. It's hard to like, convince your brain that the new story from the same author is completely separate from the other one, and for me it applies both to stories I liked and those I didn't. Plus it works both ways.
